26 one-letter books

A two-colour riso-printed letter book containing only 26 letters, each unfolding across four pages.

Cut into folded pages forming the (unbound) book itself, every letter can also be worn as a mask, linking the gesture of holding a mask to that of holding a book close to one’s face for a closer read.

Created during lockdown, the project explores playful typography and the relationship between the body and the editorial object, seeking to foster a joyful connection between young readers and reading through participation and play.

Conceived and produced in the context of Hypercodex, a research project funded by the FRQSC.
