Walking Type Workshop

The Hoxton Angel typeface is the result of a walking workshop co-organised with Tower Block Books and Moments Like This, a research cluster from Central St Martin’s directed by Nuno Coelho.

Twenty-four participants captured,
shared and traced the letterforms they could spot in buildings around them during a walk from Hoxton to Angel, walking their way across estates, victorian, georgian and vernacular architecture and new developments.

The letterforms were then shared, selected and retraced, resulting in a limited-edition poster printed on a risograph.

Participants (walk, type specimen collection and selection):

Rute Nieto Ferreira, Nuno Coelho, Noah Bier, Wolfram Borger, Richard Carter, Eloise Crist, Simon Denzel, Nathania Hartley, Lizzy Hathaway-White, Torsten Neeland, Colette Sadlier, Kim Scouller, Tom Warr, Vassilis Karidis, Konstantinos & Odysseas Karavellas, Alex Papanastasiou, Hicca Carryer,
Robert Shillcock.
